Blue flag features a commander role available to community voted members.

Commanders have access to novel means of directing the battle via scripted functions. They can request a code by typing -code in the GLOBAL chat returned by a 4 character code to be used on a map marker. Create a map marker, issue the command followed by the code to complete the action.


List of available commands:

Information Commands:

-CMD MARK

  • This command is available for all players without the code. This command will display additional information about the mark's position in the marker's description the map. The marker will be deleted after a 30 seconds. The information contains: LL DD, LL DM, LL DMS, MGRS

-CMD ALERT <CODE> <TEXT>

  • This command will send a server message to your coalition. The position of the marker is not relevant. number of characters is limited.

Objective commands can be set to direct the battle by placing markers on the map, the map markers will persist and cannot be deleted by other users.

All players can then type -obj in the global chat and the commander set objectives are listed respectively.

The set objectives are also shown in the initial splash screen when a player spawns in.

Area objectives (can be set anywhere and the area is interpreted and presented in the objective message):

-CMD OBJECTIVE CAP <CODE>

  • This will issue an objective command to CAP in a specific area.

-CMD OBJECTIVE INTERDICTION <CODE>

  • This will issue an objective command to perform Interdiction flights in a specific area.

Base objectives (the set location will latch to the closest objective):

-CMD OBJECTIVE ATTACK <CODE>

  • This will issue an objective command to Attack a specific objective.

-CMD OBJECTIVE DEFEND <CODE>

  • This will issue an objective command to Defend a specific objective.

-CMD OBJECTIVE FORTIFY <CODE>

  • This will issue an objective command to Fortify a specific objective.


Objectives are deleted with the following command:

-obj remove <mark id> (in GLOBAL chat)

Spawning Commands:

-CMD TANKERBASKET <CODE>

  • This command will spawn an air-to-air tanker (basket) on top of the nearest friendly airfield. The tanker will proceed to fly to and orbit over the marker's position. Amount of tanker-spawns are limited: NATO (blue Caucasus; red Persian Gulf): 3 x KC-135 MPRS per server-restart, freq. 241.00 MHz WARSAW (red Caucasus; blue Persian Gulf): 3 x IL-78M per server-restart, freq. 135.00 MH. Total number of actions are shared with the boom tankers

-CMD TANKERBOOM <CODE>

  • This command will spawn an air-to-air tanker (boom) on top of the nearest friendly airfield. The tanker will proceed to fly to and orbit over the marker's position. Amount of tanker-spawns are limited: NATO (blue Caucasus; red Persian Gulf): 3 x KC-135 per server-restart, freq. 240.00 MHz WARSAW (red Caucasus; blue Persian Gulf): 3 x KC-135 per server-restart, freq. 134.00 MHz. Total number of actions are shared with the basket tankers

-CMD AWACS <CODE>

  • This command will spawn an AWACS on top of the nearest friendly airfield. The AWACS will proceed to fly to and orbit over the marker's position. Actions are limited to one on PG scenario.

-CMD REINFORCEMENTS <CODE>

  • This command will issue reinforcements to be spawned in on the closest friendly objective. Three actions available for each session.

Only available in Caucasus

-CMD CAP <CODE>

  • This command will spawn two fighters to CAP in the marked area, the fighters will spawn at the closest friendly airbase. Amount of fighter spawns is limited.

-CMD STRIKE <CODE>

  • This command will spawn two attack helicopters to attack in the marked area, the fighters will spawn at the closest friendly FARP/Airbase. Amount of striker spawns is limited.

Only available in Modern Scenarios

-CMD CONVOYATTACK <CODE>

  • An available convoy form the nearest friendly objective (FARP/Roadbase/armybase/Airbase) will be dispatched.

-CMD DRONE <CODE>

This command will spawn an MQ-9 Reaper UAV on top of the nearest friendly airfield. The UAV will proceed to fly to and orbit over the marker's position. Actions are limited to 2. A UAV or an DRONE will establish an orbit at 21 000 ft and begin searching ground targets and lazing them. UAV buddy lazing can be used through both in-game radio menu frequency 259.000 Mhz AM or via JTAC Script by selecting in the radio menu OTHER then JTAC STATUS. Targets illuminated, coordinates, grid, type, and lazer codes are briefly displayed. Targets lazed are in addition indicated by a red smoke for red units and blue smoke for blue units. UAV can illuminate targets as far as 30-40nm out. This action currently only available in the PG and Syria Modern scenarios.CAUTION: always give the drone a waypoint after spawning it, otherwise it won't climb and accelerate - prone to collide with terrain.


Movement Commands:

-CMD WPAWACS <CODE>

  • A friendly AWACS closest to this map marker will pick up the command and the AWACS will follow to the position of the map marker to start an orbit in the new area. Unlimited number of actions available. There's a 60nm minimum distance between the given waypoint and an enemy base or a FARP.

-CMD WPTANKER <CODE>

  • A friendly TANKER closest to this map marker will pick up the command and the AWACS will follow to the position of the map marker to start an orbit in the new area. Unlimited number of actions available. There's a 60nm minimum distance between the given waypoint and an enemy base or a FARP.

-CMD WPCARRIER <CODE>

  • Will issue a waypoint for the whole carrier group. Number of actions are unlimited. Carrier group will proceed to the newly set waypoint at speed of 26kts. Caution must be exercised for issuing the carrier waypoints as the carrier group is easily grounded or collided with static ships if not paying attention to the chosen route. In addition, tight turns may induce its' own problems for those spawning on the carrier during a course alteration. There's a (60nm Persian Gulf / 40nm Syria) minimum distance between the given waypoint and an enemy base or a FARP.

Only available in Modern Scenarios

-CMD WPDRONE <CODE>

  • A friendly DRONE closest to this map marker will pick up the command and the DRONE will follow to the position of the map marker to start an orbit in the new area. Unlimited number of actions available

Only available in WWII scenarios

-CMD WPFLEET <CODE>

  • Naval Fleet Capture - Naval fleets can capture objectives, more specifically naval objectives, if they have Higgins boats alive in their fleet
  • Convoy Capture - Convoys can capture objectives

-CMD BOMBER <CODE>

  • Calls B-17 bomber groups to carpet bomb specific objectives

How do I become a commander

Buddy Spike Discord has a #commander-applications channel. Periodically applications are open. Commanders are chosen by the community votes. 15 up-votes or more (without any downvote) warrant for a commander role added for the unique player ID. More details are found in the BS Discord.
